Sweet Water 420 Review (#1)
Hello All –
Today I am writing my review about Sweet Water 420. The beer
was quite soothing upon first sip, and It was not as “hoppy” as I was thinking
it would be. It is definitely a more darker beer than most typical brews. Although
I like the flavor, after the first couple of sips I began to get a hint of a
bitter taste. I believe this bitter taste is expected when drinking an EPA
(Extra Pale Ale) beverage.
Alright, now on to my views on nutrition of Sweet Water 420.
When looking at the nutrition label, 420 has 185 calories per 1 bottle serving,
15 grams of carbs per 1 bottle serving and 13 grams of sugar per 1 bottle
serving. The abv (alcohol by volume) for 420 is 5.3 percent. The cost of
purchasing Sweet Water 420 is on the more expensive side. A 6-pack cost between
$8.99 – $12.99 depending on where you purchase. A 12-pack would cost you
between $14.99 - $21.99 depending on where you buy. I have experienced the
cheapest price to buy Sweet Water 420 is at Kroger.
The calories are a little on the high side for an Extra Pale
Ale, but the grams of carbs appear to be in the average range for Extra Pale
Ales that I have come across. One of my concerns I have with dark beers is that
they tend to “fill you up quick,” so to speak. With Sweet Water 420, I did not
get that bloated feeling after drinking a couple of the beers that usually
comes with drinking such types of beers.
For those avid beer drinkers, let’s talk about what beers I
would compare Sweet Water 420 to. For those who prefer a lighter Extra Pale
Ale, I would recommend Rolling Rock. It is a lighter beer than 420, but you
still get that EPA taste. Rolling Rock has a lower abv than Sweet Water 420,
taping in at 4.5 percent. Rolling Rock is a good EPA to sip on while relaxing
and hanging out. For those like me, who prefer a darker beer, I would suggest
trying Flying Fish’s Extra Pale Ale. Flying Fish is a darker beer that is easy
to sip on. Like 420, it does not give me that bloated feeling either. With
Flying Fish, you get a similar abv at 5.2 percent. Flying Fish is a better beer to consume when
eating, because it goes well with all foods, in my opinion.
Overall, Sweet Water 420 is an enjoyable beer. It has been
one of my favorites that I have tried. I would highly recommend to any beer
drinker who prefers a dark beer over a light beer. Thanks for reading and stay
tuned for another beer review to come!
